Hello Everyone, I have a brief message to post first before the teaching for this week. We will continue our "Wednesday's Words to Live By" for this month and then we will take a break for summer vacation beginning June 6th thru October 1st; I know during the summer most people go on vacation or spend more time with their families. Plus, I am taking some time off to try and finish these four books I have started on:) and I am going out of town for about two weeks for some rest:). I pray you all have a blessed and safe summer and stay connected to God whatever you do; don't get to busy and forget about Him. If anyone need to contact me during the time above, you can still reach me via email. Shalom!

Scriptures: Isaiah 53:3-5 & Romans 8:1-12
Isaiah 53:3-5 – (www.biblegateway.com – Amplified)
3He was despised and rejected and forsaken by men, a Man of sorrows and pains, and acquainted with grief and sickness; and like One from Whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not appreciate His worth or have any esteem for Him.
4Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy].
5But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
Romans 8:1-12 – (www.biblegateway.com – Amplified)
1THEREFORE, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.
2For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.
3For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice],
4So that the righteous and just requirement of the Law might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the flesh but in the ways of the Spirit [our lives governed not by the standards and according to the dictates of the flesh, but controlled by the Holy Spirit].
5For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit.
6Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].
7[That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God's Law; indeed it cannot.
8So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.
9But you are not living the life of the flesh, you are living the life of the Spirit, if the [Holy] Spirit of God [really] dwells within you [directs and controls you]. But if anyone does not possess the [Holy] Spirit of Christ, he is none of His [he does not belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God].
10But if Christ lives in you, [then although] your [natural] body is dead by reason of sin and guilt, the spirit is alive because of [the] righteousness [that He imputes to you].
11And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.
12So then, brethren, we are debtors, but not to the flesh [we are not obligated to our carnal nature], to live [a life ruled by the standards set up by the dictates] of the flesh.
In the last part of this teaching, I want to talk specifically to people who have been abused as a child. You are no longer a victim of child abuse, child molestation, child abandonment, child neglect, rejection, or anything else you suffered as a child.
Prayer for you
I come against those spirits that keep trying to remind you of the childhood trauma you suffered in the Name of Jesus and command those spirits and every spirit that is associated with them to go where Jesus tell them to go, no more will they torment you. I ask Jesus to cover your minds and hearts with His blood and give you peace in every area of your lives. I bind the fear that torments you in the Name of Jesus and fear I command you to go from these people’s lives NOW, by the power and authority Jesus has given me. You spirit of fear will not torment them ever again because God did not give them the spirit of fear but of love, power, and a sound mind. I ask this Father in the Name of Jesus, the Name that is above every other name, Amen.
If you are one who was abused as a child, you must rise up and not allow that childhood abuse (any form) to stop you from going forth in God. You are NOT the blame for the abuse that happened to you! Don’t allow that thing to continue to be a crutch for you! Submit yourselves totally to God and then you will be able to resist the devil and he must flee from you (James 4:7). But the devil will never flee as long as you continue to have your pity parties and cry “Oh me, oh my.” Take up your sick beds and walk in the liberty that Christ has set you free! Now is the time! Stop allowing the devil to remind you of where you came from or how you were abused! It is YOUR responsibility to stop him! God has given you everything you need to defeat the enemy in your mind. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for the pulling down of strongholds; casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. You are to bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
When the enemy brings those thoughts of what you went through as a child to your mind, refute them with the Word of God instead of agreeing with him; don’t let the enemy talk to you! Jesus has already given you the victory over everything in your past! Stop using your childhood drama to play out in your present life so people can feel sorry for you. Also, don’t use what happened in your childhood as an excuse so you can feel sorry for yourself; neither of these is going to help you but they will hinder your growth in God and keep you from moving on with your life – you will stay stuck in the past. You will hinder your future by stopping yourself from living the God best life; the abundant life Jesus died for you to live! Stop It! Move past that pain, frustration, drama, stress, etc. and begin to live your abundant life. Make the decision now, today, this minute, to choose life; the life Jesus died so you could live. Start by repenting to God for being in agreement with the devil by allowing those thoughts from your childhood to dominate your present life.
Do not allow the devil to continue to have a foothold in your life. When those thoughts first come to your mind, rebuke them!
You are not a victim of childhood abuse or any other type of abuse so I come against that victim mindset with the blood of Jesus and in the Name of Jesus and command it to be broken from you, it will no longer have any power over you, in the Name of Jesus, Amen!
You are victorious through Christ in every area of your life. You have the mind of Christ so act like it! Don’t allow the devil to deceive you into remaining a victim. Stop allowing things to defeat you! You are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you (Romans 8:37); embrace the love of Christ and walk in His strength.
Remember, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13) but without Him you can do nothing (John 15:5); get connected and stay connected to the Vine (God).
God's Blessings,
Dr. Dorothy E. Hooks
