Importance of Forgiveness Program – Part 1C & 1D – Session 3 -June 11th

II. Connection Between Mind & Body – (continued):

  • Third Point of View Scriptures – 1C/1D  - The Scriptures Dr. Mathias gave which prove the connection between disease and sin (unforgiveness) (remember, unforgiveness (sin) is the spiritual root of a disease).

Proverbs 4:23 – “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Proverbs 14:30 – “A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.”

Proverbs 16:24 – “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”

Proverbs 17:22 – “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”

(Scriptures are KJV taken from www.biblegateway.com)

Our bones do not function properly when our spirit is broken and we speak negative words or negative words have been or are being spoken to us. Our bones produce the cells of our immune system; pleasant words are sweet to the soul and health to our bones. But, a broken spirit or negative words will destroy our immune system. Medicine agrees with Scripture: Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” We need to remember that our words have the power of life and death for not only ourselves but everyone around us; our action affects everyone close to us.

As I stated before, forgiveness is a choice! All of those negative emotions we have discussed in this teaching are choices; we choose whether we are going to live in that negative state and bring sickness and diseases upon ourselves or are we going to release the people or person who has wronged us so those negative emotions can be released.

Are you ready to get rid of unforgiveness and all those things that have been tormenting you because of unforgiveness (PTSD, nightmares, depression, anxiety, back issues, intermittent explosive disorder, etc.)?

I am going to give you some time to write down everyone who has hurt you in any way, even yourself, and we will say the prayer to release that person or persons and yourself from unforgiveness. We will pray the prayer for each person involved and we will be making two list and saying two prayers: one for unforgiveness and the other one for self-bitterness. Today we will finish unforgiveness and next session we will cover self-bitterness; both of these prayers come from Dr. Mathias’ book, “Biblical Foundations of Freedom.”

HOMEWORK: Please complete “Forgiveness Affidavit” exercise below before next session on June 18th – this is to confess your forgiveness out loud and for you to keep!

III. Take Action By Taking Responsibility – Homework – June 11, 2013

      A. The Forgiveness Affidavit – 1E

Make the list of all the people who have hurt you, including yourself, and we will say the prayer to release that person or persons and yourself from unforgiveness. We will pray the prayer for each person involved. In doing this we will become free of all shame, guilt, self-condemnation, regret and sorrow.
