Synopsis:
In this week’s lecture, we will examine Christ's power and authority. Here are some Scriptures which shows this:
Colossians 1:13 says, "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son...."
Colossians 2:15 says, "And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."
John 12:31 says, "Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out."
Hebrews 2:14 says, "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and food, He also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil...."
I John 3:8 say, "He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from e beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy works of the devil."
Jesus came to earth to destroy the kingdom and works of the devil. He had the power to triumph over all principalities and powers. Demons recognized His authority, and they created a scene when Jesus confronted them. Luke 4:34 and Matthew 12:22-32 present such an account.

Chapter Fourteen: Our Power and Authority in Christ – Goal: to define and explain our authority in Christ. To accomplish this goal, we will: fully explain Christ’s authority first then explaining the believer’s authority using various Scriptures.
